150 years of family story and achievements

From villa to 4-star Romantik Hotel:
tradition in step with the times

We have to go back to around 1860, when the small guesthouse started a long tradition in the art of hospitality. At the time, it was called Villa Santer and was a popular meeting place for international guests. Years passed and we arrive at Herbert's parents, Pepi and Paula Santer, who inherited the small guesthouse and ran it with great joy and enthusiasm. A passion which they passed on to Herbert and Godelieve and which continues today with Jürgen and the whole family.

With Herbert and Godelieve, the new era of Santer opens with many innovations over the years

While Pepi and Paula's daughter Hedwig opened a Tyrolean fashion shop, Trachtenstüberl - La Stube, Herbert and his wife Godelieve took the helm of Santer in 1970 and ushered in a phase of great success.

A winning team

The family is everything, like the story that it tells

Jürgen has taken over the business, while his parents Herbert and Godelieve provide advice and support. Stephanie runs the reception together with Jürgen and Saskia is responsible for the wellness area.
The sisters Nathalie, Saskia and Stephanie share a passion for cross-country skiing and biathlon and are known as the 'Santer Sisters'. If Stephanie had not broken her leg shortly before the Turin 2006 Olympics, they would have been the first trio of sisters to compete in the Olympics.
Some important milestones

Since 1970, Hotel Santer has been run in the third generation by Godelieve and Herbert Santer. Since 2022, Jürgen has been running the hotel in the fourth generation.
